ALL ABOUT YEAR 3
Welcome to Year 3!
Year 3 is an exciting year: it’s the first year of KS2 and full of learning and fun.
Children need to remember to bring their iPads (fully charged) and reading books into school every day. We ask that all children read at least 3 times a week at home and that their reading record book is signed. Children have the opportunity to change their reading books daily during registration.
Consists of either a comprehension book or Bug Club activity that is to be handed in/completed every Friday.
Weekly spellings will be given out on a Friday for a test the following Friday.
A weekly times tables quiz will take place on a Friday. It is incredibly important that your child practises their times tables regularly at home. We will be looking at x4 and x8 tables in class, but will recap the x2, x3, x5 and x10 regularly. At home try quick bursts whilst travelling to and from school, interactive times tables games on the web and mini challenges to keep their brains ticking!
Children should have PE kits in school at all times.
We hope your child has a thoroughly enjoyable year!
If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to catch us after school, send a note in with your child, or make an appointment to see us via the school office.
