Welcome to Year 3!

Year 3 is an exciting year: it’s the first year of KS2 and full of learning and fun.

Welcome to the Year 3 page. We hope you find everything you need to know about your child’s class at Hambleton Primary Academy.

Throughout this year, we will be covering three different topics. We will be focusing on; Invaders and Settlers, Food glorious Food and Extreme Earth. We aim to plan lessons that are fun and engaging for the children.

This is our Year 3 jigsaw for the following year.

Reading books

On a daily basis, children need to remember to bring in their ipads (fully charged), reading books and reading records. We do ask that reading records have been signed to show your child has read at home. Children have the opportunity to change their reading books daily during class registration.

In school reading

Children are asked to bring in a piece of literature of their choice that they will have the opportunity to read daily. This can range from a comic, book or newspaper.

Homework will be given out every Friday and is expected to be handed back in the following Friday. There will be a spelling test each Friday.

Children should come to school wearing their PE kits every Wednesday.

We hope you find everything you need to know on our page. Keep a look out on our schools Facebook page for pictures of what we have been up to. We are going to have a fantastic year!
